Adoption Pending! Shelby, is a 1-2 year old, spayed female purebred Doberman. If you like them small, Shelby is a very tiny and petite girl. She came in with Coquetta who we think may be her sister. Shelby had to be captured, very pregnant, in the Texas desert, living basically a feral life with a pack of Dobermans. Shelby delivered 5 healthy puppies after coming into rescue, who have all now been adopted. Now its her turn to find herself and her happy ever after. This girl will not let you down and would be perfect for the first time Doberman owner. She has a very gentle and kind temperament, and loves the attention she gets from her foster family, something she did not know or get in her previous life. She has learned that snuggling with her foster mom and dad is the best. Shelby has come so far in such a short time. She is currently going to doggy daycare for the social aspect and doing wonderful with all the other dogs. Shelby loves to play with her canine friends but can be a little shy with new people. Shelby loves to go for walks in the woods, and her foster mom reports they have done some off leash walks and Shelby stays close by her side, even though the bunnies and squirrels spark her interest. Shelby is a little timid of riding in cars but is such a trooper and willing to get in even though she is unsure, she has even started jumping in all on her own! That is just how she rolls, she is willing to try new things with the confidence of her humans. There is so much for her to learn, and seeing her blossom into the beautiful dog she is becoming has been so rewarding for us in rescue. Shelby has been fully vetted, is heart worm negative, current on vaccines, spayed, chipped and ready to find her for ever home.
