Dalton is a male 6 month old Labrador X who arrived from Louisiana with his 4 littermates.  Dalton loves playing with all the other dogs both big and small and he would make a great family dog for most homes. Being bit shy with new things, a fenced yard and another confident canine in the home would be ideal. Dalton loves his foster fur-sister and they love playing all day long.  Favorite games to play: steal the squirrel, chase me and wrestling. Being from Louisiana Dalton loves the Minnesota snow, he runs around, rolls and army crawls like a goofy puppy through the snow.  Dalton is a very food motivated so will be easy to train and is proving to be quite intelligent. This guy may be your next hunting pal as he is easily trainable. He quickly learned sit and down in just a session or two of training.  He is learning to "come" and is very good at “watch me”.  Fully potty and crate trained, he finds his kennel to be a cozy and comforting den.  He walks great on the leash and walks very well when his foster sister is present. Dalton was living outdoors in Louisiana for his first 6 months of life in a kennel, so everything is new for Dalton – even the staircase was a mystery to him when he first came to his foster home, but he quickly overcame that as he does everything he encounters. Dalton seems to quickly acclimate to new situations and people.  He is a very trusting and loving pup, very calm with no jumping issues!  Dalton loves to cuddle, but is also happy to just chill and lay at your feet. Not much of a licker, but will offer a kiss or two.  His coat is silky soft and a beautiful black – with just a hint of smoky sable in the light.  A home without cats that like to run away from him would probably be best, or a dog savvy cat who wont run so he doesn't give chase. While he hasn't hurt the cat, the cat has proven to not like Dalton and it is a sort of dog and cat game to chase the cat. He is very good with older children and is figuring out the younger children – they are just a little loud!  Two nephews come over to visit and he did great, but no children live in his current foster home. Dalton is microchipped, current on vaccines, neutered and heart worm negative. This sweet guy is ready to find his for ever home! Please apply!
